Can Chiropractic help a young child suffering
from "growing pains"?
Normally growing pains are found in the lower trunk, back, and legs.
Like many childhood ailments, how often have you been told, "He/she
will grow out of it"?
We think we know what growing pain are, but have you ever really thought
about the issue or has your doctor provided you an explanation that
actually makes sense? Are the bones and muscles of the lower extremity
really growing too fast compared to the bones of the upper extremities?
Why don't your arms hurt, or your face, or your shoulders? Aren't
they growing also? So why the legs and feet?
Possibly, an additionally explanation may be found in the phenomenon
called "subluxation". As a result of all the falls, trips, bumps,
and bruises, suffered in normal childhood development, it is possible
that the spine has misaligned (subluxated), causing pressure on those
delicate spinal nerves, controlling the organs, tissues, and cells
in the lower extremity.
Gentle manipulation/spinal adjustments to the spine and extremities,
combined with soft tissue work and/or massage and exercise, often
produces significant relief. It is quite possible that your child
can avoid years of needless pain, caused by waiting for him/her to
simply "grow out of it"!
If your child is experiencing pain in the legs, commonly called "Growing
pains," a visit to a chiropractor with pediatric experience should
be a priority. |
